The territory:
Termoli
A tresure to discover among
the most beautiful villages in Italy
Termoli, crowned one of the most beautiful villages in Italy by numerous national magazines, is a treasure chest that brings together art, history and traditions. What fascinates of this town is certainly the Borgo Antico renamed by the people from Termoli "Paese vecchio". The old city is a promontory overlooking the sea, surrounded by walls that in ancient times served to protect it from enemy attacks and, to watch-over its inhabitants, stands imposingly and majestically the Suevian Castle.
Entering the streets of the Borgo Antico, one is fascinated by the infinite number of narrow streets that intersect like a checkerboard to reach Piazza Duomo. Here you can visit the Cathedral, a real jewel in the Apulian Romanesque style, dating back to the XII century.
Summer events
Impossible not to mention the most awaited appointment by the people of Termoli: the celebration in honor of San Basso, the protector of the city. A three-day party between processions at sea, bonfires on the beach and concerts. But Termoli is also tradition: do not miss the appointment with the fire of the Castle in the summer. The "Ferragosto termolese" commemorates the landing of the Turks and the assault against the ancient village by Pialì Pascià. Throughout the evening, the entire north Lungomare, where our hotel stands, is celebrating the event.
